  • If your surgery is covered by health insurance, ACC, or a Health New Zealand contract, we will work with them to request approval and confirm funding.

Some insurance policies include an excess or co-payment. Please check your policy wording or speak with your insurer if you are unsure.

  • If you are paying for your surgery yourself, you will receive an estimate before your procedure outlining the expected costs.

Surgery is performed at Grace Hospital, however the hospital, surgeon, anaesthetist and implant suppliers each invoice separately. You may be asked to pre-pay part or all of these costs.

Payments can generally be made online, by internet banking, or by credit card.

  • This depends on your insurance policy. If an excess applies, it must be paid before surgery can go ahead.

In most cases, the excess is paid directly to Grace Hospital, and they will contact you if this applies.

  • If your surgery is not covered or funded by insurance, ACC, or Health New Zealand — or if approval has not been confirmed — you will need to pay the estimated hospital costs before admission.

Grace Hospital will contact you at least three days before your surgery if payment is required. If payment is not made, your surgery may be postponed.

  • You can pay online, via internet banking, or in person by credit card. Each surgeon’s practice may have a preferred payment method, so we recommend checking with their team directly.

Please note that payments to Grace Hospital for your admission cannot be taken by the surgeon’s practice and need to be paid directly to Grace Hospital.

  • Our team is happy to help. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’re unsure about anything.
