The Fracture Clinic at Grace Orthopaedic Centre provides expert assessment and management of musculoskeletal injuries in a specialist outpatient setting. Our clinic is fully funded by ACC and led by experienced orthopaedic surgeons offering care for fractures, tendon ruptures, crush injuries, and other recent orthopaedic trauma.

This is an ACC-funded, non-emergency outpatient service, designed for patients who are at least 7 days post-injury.

Patients must be referred to this service.

Please note: Patients with urgent or immediate care needs should be directed to Tauranga Hospital Emergency Department or Second Avenue Health Centre.

Referrer Information
We accept referrals for patients who are at least 7 days post-injury. Our clinic is ideal for ongoing fracture care, secondary review, and specialist input following injury.

Common conditions seen at our Fracture Clinic:

  • Confirmed or suspected fractures

  • Severe sprains or soft tissue injuries

  • Acute tendon ruptures (e.g. Achilles) – not long-standing injuries

  • Crush injuries

  • Acute finger or tendon trauma (e.g. mallet finger)

  • Post-operative follow-up for patients who had surgery elsewhere and reside locally
     

To ensure smooth triage and booking, please include:

  • Referral addressed to the Fracture Clinic 

  • Patients ACC Number or Accredited Employer Claim Number

  • Clinical notes, including injury details and treatment to date

  • X-ray / CT / MRI reports, and access to images where possible

  • Medication list, including natural/herbal supplements

  • Any hospital discharge summaries or surgical notes
