About Mark

Mark completed his medical training at the University of Auckland and gained his Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2020. He then travelled to Halifax, Canada, for a clinical fellowship with an international leader in hip and knee replacement. Mark also played a role in the province’s first robotic-assisted knee joint replacement, sparking his continued interest in the future of orthopaedic innovation.

​Mark is committed to teaching and mentorship, working closely with orthopaedic registrars and house surgeons, helping to support and guide the next generation of surgical specialists.

​Recently returning to the Bay, Mark lives in Mount Maunganui with his wife and their young family. Outside the hospital, you’ll often find Mark spending time with his young family and enjoying all the outdoor activities the Bay has to offer.
