About James

After completing a First Class Honours MSc and BHB, James studied medicine at the University of Auckland, then completed his orthopaedic training here in New Zealand. He went on to further specialise overseas, completing a Foot and Ankle Fellowship in Sydney, followed by a Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellowship in Dublin.

​Now based in the Bay of Plenty, James brings a broad skill set to his patients across Tauranga, Whakatane, and Grace Hospital.

​James is a member of the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He is also a director of the Orthopacifix Charitable Trust, where he helps deliver orthopaedic care and education to Pacific communities — supporting local clinics and providing relief work where it’s most needed.

Outside of work, James enjoys coaching and watching his sons play basketball.
