FAQ
Yes, we require a referral from your GP, physiotherapist, or another healthcare professional to book an appointment with one of our orthopaedic specialists.
Our team specialises in a wide range of orthopaedic conditions, including joint replacements (hip, knee, shoulder), sports injuries, arthritis, fractures, and general musculoskeletal issues.
Grace Orthopaedic Centre is based in Tauranga, with consulting rooms and surgical facilities on-site. You’ll find directions and parking details on our Contact page.
General FAQs
Wait times vary depending on the specialist and urgency of your condition. Once we receive your referral, our team will contact you to schedule the earliest available appointment.
Please bring your referral letter, any relevant medical records or imaging (like X-rays or MRIs), a list of medications, and your health insurance details if applicable.
Your specialist will discuss your diagnosis and treatment options. If surgery is required, our admin team will guide you through the next steps, including pre-admission, consent, and payment.
Appointments & Surgery
If you’re insured or your procedure is covered by ACC or a DHB contract, we’ll work with them directly. If you’re unsure, please check with your insurer or contact our admin team.
If your surgery isn’t covered, you’ll need to pay the estimated hospital costs before your admission. Payment options include online, internet banking, or credit card.
Yes – if your insurance policy has an excess, this amount must be paid before your surgery goes ahead.
