About Andrew

After completing his medical degree at Auckland in 1997, Andrew gained his Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery (FRACS) in 2007. He then headed overseas to further his training, completing a sports knee fellowship in Perth, a hip replacement fellowship in Exeter, and a combined hip and knee replacement fellowship in Edinburgh. He returned to Tauranga in 2010 to begin practice, bringing with him a wide range of international expertise.

​Andrew takes pride in working closely with each patient to understand their goals and tailor treatment accordingly—whether that’s surgical or non-surgical. He often works alongside physiotherapists, occupational therapists and dietitians to make sure patients have the support they need for a strong recovery.

​

​He’s also committed to education and giving back to the profession. Andrew teaches medical students and orthopaedic trainees at Tauranga Hospital, contributes to academic research, and regularly presents at national conferences. He also volunteers his time and surgical skills in the Pacific Islands, where he supports both education and orthopaedic care for communities in need.

​

When he’s not in the operating theatre, you’ll likely find him outdoors — making the most of the region’s natural beauty and enjoying family time with his wife and two young kids.
